Report: What Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville thinks of joining Brighton with talks ongoing

Archie Gray left Leeds United to join Tottenham on Tuesday but that is not going to stop other Premier League clubs trying to sign some key players from Daniel Farke’s impressive side.

The England U21 midfielder left Leeds for a fee of £40m to join Tottenham, with Joe Rodon coming the other way in a separate £10m move. Gray’s move does put Leeds under less pressure to sell any others.

Indeed, it puts Leeds in a stronger position when clubs come calling according to Ben Jacobs. That was proven last night when reports emerged Brighton had a £30m bid rejected by Leeds for Georginio Rutter.

Plenty of the side that reached the play-off final have been linked with a move. Crysencio Summerville is attracting plenty of interest, along with the likes of Willy Gnonto, Illan Meslier, Ilia Gruev and Rutter.

Summerville does not have any offers on the table according to what has been reported, but Brighton have opened talks to sign the Dutch winger.

Brighton not the only side interested in signing Summerville

Fabrizio Romano recently said that Brighton had opened initial talks to land the former Feyenoord man. While his exit would not be pure profit like Gray, it is the next best thing having cost just £1.3m in 2020.

Liverpool, Chelsea, West Ham, Fulham and Bournemouth are also supposedly keen. Newcastle have held internal talks regarding Summerville, while Palace could sign him if Eberechi Eze or Michael Olise depart.

But Brighton are the club to make the first move. Now, a report from Leeds Live shares what the Leeds star thinks about a move to James Milner’s side this summer, and it is not good news for The Seagulls.

Brighton does not tickle Summerville’s fancy this summer

Summerville was all smiles in Leeds’ YouTube pre-season video published on Tuesday evening. It also saw stars like Rutter, Gnonto, Meslier and many more getting the testing done ahead of training on the grass.

The chances are that all those seen in the video might not be there come the start of the 2024-25 season. Summerville is likely to go given the amount of interest in his services, but he will not be joining Brighton.

It suggests one of two things. Summerville wants to stay and help Leeds go back up, or more likely, the winger is holding out for a bigger club this summer with Arne Slot said to be a keen admirer of him.
