Report: Real Madrid have just joined Arsenal in the race to sign England player at Euro 2024

Real Madrid are set to provide Arsenal with competition in the race to sign an England player, according to a recent report.

Arsenal are in the market for further reinforcements this summer as they look to add squad depth to compete with Manchester City for the Premier League title.

They’re looking at doing a deal for Spain and Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams and are also keeping tabs on an England player.

Though, they now face stiff competition from Real Madrid for his signature.

Real Madrid want to sign Arsenal target Marc Guehi

Arsenal have been linked with England and Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi over the last few weeks.

A bid was even being prepared but there has been no further confirmation of how that has progressed.

Now, according to The Mirror, Real Madrid are interested in signing the 23-year-old, who has impressed at Euro 2024 in Germany.

It’s claimed the two clubs are going head to head for his signature this summer whilst Barcelona and Juventus also circle in the background.

It’ll be a tough deal to do for Edu, with so many top-level clubs in for him, but given he already lives in the capital, perhaps he’d favour a move to North London.

Marc Guehi price tag

Guehi is reportedly valued at £65m by Crystal Palace, per BBC Sport.

The former Chelsea defender is under contract until 2026, so this summer may be the final chance for The Eagles to get full whack on their prized asset.

Next year, his value will drop significantly, so perhaps it’s wise for Palace to move him on with his stock at an all-time high after his exceptional England performances.

A telling few weeks await.
