Report: Nottingham Forest now receive £11m bid for 'fantastic' midfielder from Champions League club

Nottingham Forest are busy reshaping their squad and it would appear there is actually vast interest in some of the current crop.

The Reds need to make sure they are well-stocked in every area of the pitch before the big kick-off in mid-August.

Forest yesterday allowed Brandon Aguilera to leave, with the Costa Rica international joining Rio Ave on a permanent deal.

At the weekend, Odysseas Vlachodimos signed for Newcastle as part of the deal that saw Forest sign Elliot Anderson for a fee in the region of £35 million.

Now, news of another player being linked with a move away from theCity Ground has been reported – and it’s somewhat surprising.

‘Fantastic’ Nottingham Forest player subject of £11m bid from Galatasaray

According to Turkish journalist Gala Haber, Galatasaray are keen to sign Nicolas Dominguez from Forest and have offered £11 million.

It’s not clear at this stage whether the Reds would consider selling Dominguez given that he only signed for the club last summer.

The Argentine midfielder signed for £8.5 million from Bologna, with Remo Freuler joining the Serie A club on loan for the 2023/24 campaign.

Dominguez made a pretty good start to life in England, scoring three goals and claiming two assists during 29 appearances for Forest.

Darren Fletcher who is the TNT Sports lead commentator andForest supporter called Dominguez ‘fantastic’ for his efforts last season and many supporters will share his sentiments.

Forest must keep hold of Dominguez

Although it would be nice to make some more money to appease the next PSR cycle, Forest don’t want to be offloading too many good players.

Dominguez looks like a good fit in the current Forest squad and at 26-years-old, there is still scope for him to improve.

Forest have Danilo, Ryan Yates and Ibrahim Sangare to fight it out for a place in the central midfield ranks.

Elliot Anderson signed from Newcastle and there is a sense that he might try to claim a place in one of the forward positions instead of central midfield – although he can play there.

With a bid seemingly on the table, Forest have a decision to make over Dominguez.

If they do feel the need to let him leave, it looks almost certain that Nuno Espirito Santo will need to dip into the transfer market.
