Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard provides update from Arteta's training camp in Marbella

Arsenal star Martin Odegaard has now provided fans with an update from the early training camp that Mikel Arteta is now hosting.

Martin Odegaard and many of his Arsenal teammates are currently in Marbella, along with Mikel Arteta and members of his coaching staff.

Ben White, Reiss Nelson, Fabio Vieira, Emile Smith Rowe, Jurrien Timber, and Eddie Nketiah were the first to join the manager in the coastal Spanish city.

Arteta is running a relaxed training camp in Marbella. The players’ families are present, and everyone will have plenty of down time between training sessions to relax and enjoy their holiday period.

By running this early training camp, the Spanish coach will be hoping that his side can take advantage of having had something of a head-start when the new domestic campaign begins. It will also give certain players an opportunity to impress Arteta and potentially earn a more prominent place in his plans.

Arsenal are open to selling Nketiah, Nelson, and Smith Rowe this summer, but any one of that trio could change Arteta’s mind with their efforts in Marbella.

Arsenal have had success with overseas training camps before. Arteta took his players to Dubai mid-way through last season, and the Gunners’ form soared upon their return, fuelling a title charge in the second half of the campaign.

These trips promote togetherness and unity within the group, as well as allow for the players to raise their fitness levels.

Odegaard has now lifted the lid on how things are going in Marbella so far.

Martin Odegaard shares behind the scenes insight from Arsenal training camp in Marbella

Speaking from the training ground in Marbella, the Norwegian was recently interviewed by CBS Sports Golazo, when he was invited to discuss how things have been going at the camp.

The Norwegian said: “Yeah, really good. We’ve just started now the pre-season here in Marbella. So yeah, it’s good, back to work, and start preparing the season again, it’s good.”

When asked how he and his teammates are spending their time after training sessions, the former Real Madrid man replied: “Time to relax a little bit now and recover from the session. It was a good start, but it’s time to go home and see the family and, yeah, chill for a bit.”

Odegaard has been enjoying his summer away from Arsenal so far, but is clearly now keen to get back to work.
