Report: Newcastle are now set to sign teenager tipped for 'greatness' and are lining up an immediate loan

According to a recent report, Newcastle are on the verge of signing a very highly-rated teenager this summer transfer window.

The Magpies have avoided a potential PSR breach after the sales of Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson.

They’ve managed to keep hold of their top-rated assets Anthony Gordon, Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes, too.

Now, the focus can start to turn towards incoming players and with that said, they’re about to sign a highly-rated midfielder.

Newcastle United set to sign Miodrag Pivas

According to Serbian outlet Mozzart Sport, Newcastle United are set to announce the signing of Jedinstvo UB midfielder Miodrag Pivas.

The 19-year-old, who can ply his trade as a defensive midfielder or central defender, is expected to complete an £800,000 move in the coming days.

Newcastle are already lining up an immediate loan move for Pivas with Belgium and the Netherlands as potential destinations.

Jedinstvo UB have inserted a 20 per cent sell-on clause in the contract in the hope he fulfils his lofty potential and moves on from Tyneside for a substantial fee.

Pivas has been tipped for ‘greatness’, as per the Chronicle Live.

Nemanja Matic hails Miodrag Pivas

Pivas’ compatriot Nemanja Matic, formerly of Manchester United and Chelsea, has hailed the Newcastle-bound midfielder.

“He’s a huge talent and serious potential, If he continues this way, he’s on the path to the national team,” the 48-cap international said.

“In my opinion, we haven’t seen a player with such predispositions since Nemanja Vidic and Branislav Ivanovic.”

If Matic’s words come true, Newcastle will be getting one of the best bargains of the transfer window but like all young players, Pivas will need to be nurtured accordingly.

The club will be hopeful he can follow a similar development path to Minteh, who enjoyed a productive loan spell in the Netherlands with PSV.
