Dharmesh Sheth says West Ham set to hand Julen Lopetegui 'brilliant' third signing after £40m bid accepted

West Ham are now closing in on their third signing of the summer transfer window after seeing a bid accepted.

Already this summer, Julen Lopetegui‘s reign at the London Stadium has seen Luis Guilherme and Wes Foderingham brought in through the doors.

West Ham will be looking for an improvement on last season as they missed out on European football having finished down in ninth spot.

The Hammers have not looked to waste any time in trying to bolster Lopetegui’s squad for the new campaign.

And they now look set to close a proposed deal for a player who would be their third addition of this summer window.

West Ham see £40m bid accepted for third summer signing

It has been a positive few years in east London for the Hammers under David Moyes, but certain results last season saw a change needed.

The Hammers have now seen a new man appointed in the dugout at the London Stadium and he has arrived with clear ideas of what he wants this summer.

West Ham’s pre-season is set to get up and running and it looks like there could now be three new faces being welcomed when the players reunite at the training ground.

According to Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth, West Ham have now had a £40m bid accepted by Wolves for Max Kilman.

Gary O’Neil is now looking set to go into the campaign without his captain but will receive a hefty sum in return.

But what this does mean for West Ham is they are adding a big addition to their backline with the future of Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd remaining uncertain.

Julen Lopetegui set for Max Kilman reunion

Kilman made 24 appearances under Lopetegui during the Spaniard’s time at Molineux where he racked up over 2000 appearances across all competitions.

And this is a player who set some high standards at Wolves having earned the captain’s armband in his six years at the club.

His former teammate Conor Coady spoke incredibly highly of the centre-back during their time in the Midlands labeling him as “brilliant“.

Lopetegui is such a fan of the defender, it has been claimed the Spaniard would be willing to make Kilman the West Ham captain if he does make the move.
