Result: Charlotte Cane has won Ely and East Cambridgeshire for the Lib Dems

Charlotte Cane has been elected as MP for Ely and East Cambridgeshire.

She beat Conservative Lucy Frazer, who has been the MP for nine years.

Charlotte Cane, far left, has been elected in the seat for Ely and East Cambridgeshire.

The constituency effectively replaces the former South East Cambridgeshire seat, which was a safe one for the Tories. Lucy Frazer represented it for the Conservatives since 2015 and served as culture secretary in Rishi Sunak’s Cabinet since 2023.
