Twitter considering 'trusted friends' and more

Twitter is looking into into letting users limit tweets to "trusted friends".

The social network site has revealed early design concepts for several new features, including one which would allow people to limit the audience for their select tweets.

As well as Trusted Friends, the platform's Facets feature could let you categorise tweets when they are posted.

A third potential addition would allow users to list certain phrases they don't want to see in their own replies.

It should be noted, none of the ideas - which are in their early stages - are in active development at this time.

While Trusted Friends may have a toggle to signify whether a tweet will be public or for friends, Facets could let you sort tweets into various categories.

This in turn would let people follow someone for a specific topic, rather than their entire account.

And finally, choosing to filter certain words would mean while people can ignore this guidance, users could move violating replies to the bottom of their conversations.
