Guess we’ll see more of mastermind gla1ve’s impeccable leadership with the Danish giants.

Astralis has extended a three-year contract with their In-Game Leader Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander.

Astralis shows great promise as a team in Counter-strike. The organisation’s decision to secure their IGL for the next three years must have resulted from the team’s immense success in recent years. Even when they do not perform to their own high standards, the Danish team just seems very balanced in-game.

Gla1ve speaks

Gla1ve gave his thoughts on the contract extension, “I have achieved a great deal with Astralis already and obviously I had a lot of thoughts when we started the talks around a possible extension. What would be the right move?”

Indeed, the 26-year-old is an ingenious IGL in the game, spearheading Astralis to many victories and four unparalleled Major trophies. With such a career and cohesion with the team, the decision to stay was easy for gla1ve.

“To me it’s all about being in a place where I can see myself progress as a player while surrounded by dedicated people with the same ambitions and values. I have had a lot of talks with Kasper Hvidt about the future, how I can develop further as a player and how we develop the team and set-up. There are so many things to achieve and areas to improve even further, and personally I feel confident that Astralis will leave marks on professional Counter-Strike for many years to come,” he added.

“When we look at our Counter-Strike team in a historic perspective," said Kasper Hvidt, Director of Sport at Astralis. "Lukas has been instrumental for the way Astralis has developed the game. His thorough preparation and constant attention to details have been key to the team’s successes and the way he continues to contribute with new ideas will also be vital for the coming years.”

Astralis could not go all the way in IEM Cologne; and were out after their loss against G2 Esports in the semifinals. They'll compete in the upcoming ESL Pro League Season 14 which is starting from August 16.
