The Atlas Lions prevail as European Champions.
The European division of Challengers has provided the same excellent entertainment we have come to expect in 2021. With some of the best amateurs in the world competing in Europe, it has been one of the best regions to watch throughout the year. In 2021, it was the Atlas Lions who came out on top, winning Champs and taking home $40K.
Atlas Lions - EU Champs
Coming into the event as the #2 seed, many fans expected Atlas Lions to go all the way. Following a 9-0 map count in Group Play, this storyline was only reinforced. The Atlas Lions continued to dominate in the Winner's Bracket, with a 3-0 win over ClutchRayn, 3-0 over Belgium Power and 3-0 over Las Pepes.
In Winner's Finals, The Atlas Lions met their match in Amelia Strays. A 3-1 loss sent them down to the Loser's Bracket. Here, they defeated Las Pepes 3-0 once again, sending themselves into the Grand Finals. In the Grand Finals, Atlas Lions managed to secure a 3-2 win in the first series, forcing a bracket reset and securing yet another win, however this time in a 3-1 fashion.
After dominating the European Challengers scene throughout the year, Gismo, Harry, Nastie and Vortex take home Champs and $40K in the process.
