CDL 2021 Power Rankings After Stage 5 Week 1

Here’s our updated CDL 2021 Power Rankings.

This week Stage 5 of the 2021 Call of Duty League season got underway. With some incredible games, and massive surprises, here’s our updated Power Rankings following Stage 5 Week 1.

12. Los Angeles Guerrillas (-)

Starting Stage 5 with two losses is something that the LA Guerrillas were not looking for, and this looks like a terrible end to the 20921 season for them. Mental has come into the roster and struggled to keep up with the pace, with their matches only getting harder, LAG may see another 0-5 Stage.

11. Paris Legion (-1)

Paris Legion failed to win a single map in their two matches to kick off Stage 5. While they did play two of the best teams in the game in Atlanta FaZe and OpTic Chicago, they didn't look competitive at all, and therefore move down to 11th.

10. London Royal Ravens (+1)

The London Royal Ravens also went 0-2 this week, suffering a 3-0 defeat to FaZe, and a 3-1 defeat to the Thieves. However, unlike Paris, London looked competitive. If they kept their cool and closed out leads, London could’ve seen themselves 2-0 up against Atlanta FaZe. However, they didn't, and therefore their hopes of reaching Champs are too far gone.

9. Seattle Surge (-1)

Seattle Surge return to their Online form after having a great showing on LAN. A 3-1 defeat to Florida was generally expected, and Seattle will need to find a way to perform well Online, and on LAN.

8. Minnesota ROKKR (-2)

Minnesota ROKKR move down two places not due to their own performances, but due to the performances of their competitors. Minnesota went 1-1 in their matches this week, and could definitely take a winners bracket start at the Major, but a rejuvenated LA Thieves leapfrogs them, sending them down to 8th.

7. LA Thieves (+2)

LA Thieves made yet another roster change healing into Stage 5, and they most definitely made their mark. They began their week with a 3-2 win over the New York Subliners, before taking down the London Royal Ravens 3-1. This new LAT squad could be dangerous if they get some momentum heading into Champs.

6. Florida Mutineers (-)

In their only match this week the Florida Mutineers defeated Seattle Surge 3-1. This was a fairly dominant match, and the Mutineers looked great. Havok was on form, and if he can continue to make plays like he did this week, Florida will be in a great spot.

5. New York Subliners (-1)

The New York Subliners struggled in their first week with Asim back in the squad. An 0-2 start to the Stage is something that they would not have been expecting, and they will be disappointed about. Needing to win all three of their remaining matches to make the Winners bracket at the Major, NYSL need to fix things before next week.

4. OpTic Chicago (+1)

OpTic Chicago looked great this week as they went flawless with two 3-0 sweeps. Paris Legion and New York Subliners were the victims of their sweeps, and OpTic put themselves in an incredible position heading into the Major.

3. Dallas Empire (-)

The top three remain the same following one of the most dominant matches in the League so far. Dallas Empire swept the Guerrillas 3-0, 100 point clubbing them in the Hardpoint, going 5-0 up in SnD before winning 6-2 and 3-0’ing the Control. Dallas continue to look great, and will be extremely confident for this Major.

2. Toronto Ultra (-)

Their only match this week saw the Ultra defeat Minnesota ROKKR 3-1. Cammy performed once again, and Toronto Ultra looked back to their best as they got off to a great start in Stage 5.

1. Atlanta FaZe (-)

Yet again, Atlanta FaZe sit at the top of our Power Rankings. Back to Back 3-0 sweeps sees them 2-0 in the group, and almost certainly top seed for the Major. FaZe will be looking for three in a row at Major 5.
