Nerd Street Gamers Valorant Summer Championship: Qualified Teams, Schedule, & More

A proving ground for Tier-1 NA Teams.


Nerd Street Gamers announced a Summer Championship in March that included games like Apex Legends, League of Legends, Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, and Valorant. Soon after the announcement, the online qualifier phase for the Valorant Summer Championship started around April and took place until July. Now, the tournament is heading towards its final leg, with the Group Stages and Playoffs scheduled this month. Though being an open tournament, the qualified teams consist of many top-tier NA teams.

A total of 32 teams have qualified for the Summer Championship through the Open Qualifiers stage.

Match Format

Group Stage

  • All of the 32 qualified teams will be divided into eight groups, with each group containing four teams.
  • The four teams in a single group will face off against each other once in a BO3 (Best of Three) format.
  • The top two teams from each group will advance to the Playoffs Stage.

Playoffs

  • The 16 teams that advance from the Group Stage will face each other in a single-elimination style format.
  • Similar to the Group stage, all the matches up until the Grand Finals will be in a BO3.
  • The Grand Finals will be conducted in a BO5 series.

Schedule

  • Playoffs - The Playoffs will take place between August 21-22.
  • Finals- The Grand Finals of the Nerd Street Gamers Summer Championship will take place on August 23.

Prize pool

A grand prize of $20,000 has been announced for the tournament. The money distribution by podium position is as follows.

  • 1st Place: $12,000
  • 2nd Place: $5,000
  • 3rd Place: $1,500
  • 4th Place: $1,500
