2023 C8 CORVETTE Z06 DEBUTS OCTOBER 26

What are you doing October 26, 2021? Is it important? Is it important as the debut of GM’s most daring and aggressive supercar it’s ever built? We’re talking about the 2023 Corvette Z06, of course. Yes, Chevrolet has officially announced the reveal date of the C8 Corvette Z06, but we’re so far not privy to other details. That said, the new Z06 has been busy lately. Finally, the car has made it to the Nürburgring for testing, and it was accompanied by a film crew. Then it made its way to Le Mans, where Corvette Racing and the C8.R will participate in the grueling 24 hour race taking place Saturday, August 20 through Sunday, August 21. Take a look at the teaser video below.

2023 Corvette Z06 Details

The crown jewel of the C8 Corvette Z06 will be its engine: a flat-plane crank 5.5L DOHC V8 engine with an 8,000+ RPM redline. It promises to be the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine ever, with expectations of around 600-620 horsepower. This is an extreme departure from the Small Block V8-based powertrains that we’re used to, and the first DOHC V8 in a Corvette since the C4 Corvette ZR1, which was made possible at the time thanks to the aid of both Lotus and Mercury Marine.

The engine architecture is being testing in the Corvette Racing C8.R in real time. Considering that it won the 2020 IMSA championship last year, the LT6 seems to be ready for whatever race track that C8 Z06 customers care to drive it to.

First reported by MC&T and confirmed by both spy photos and the latest video, we know that the 2023 C8 Corvette Z06 will come equipped with a center exit exhaust, some serious aero upgrades, and a set of massive Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires. All around, it should bring the performance of the Corvette to a whole new level.

Stay tuned on October 26 for more.
