CoD: Seattle Surge Drops Entire Roster During CDL Champs

The Surge couldn't wait until the end of the season to drop their roster.

The Call of Duty League continues for eight of the twelve teams, but for Seattle Surge, it truly ended today. With three days left of the 2021 Championship Weekend, Seattle Surge have parted ways with their entire roster and coach.

The roster of Sam “Octane” Larew, Preston “Prestinni” Sanderson, Nicholas “Classic” DiCostanzo, Pierce “Gunless” Hillman, Daniel “Loony” Loza and Head Coach Joey “Nubzy” DiGiacomo have officially left Seattle Surge following the 2021 CDL Season. After a disappointing 2021 season for the squad, and a disappointing two years for Octane and Nubzy, the players and coach will look for a new team in 2022.

While Seattle Surge may have dropped the roster, it seems as though many of the players are glad to leave Surge behind. Octane responded to the announcement by saying, “I feel like I watched COD for 2 seasons but NO MORE BABY”. While Prestinni simply put, “free”.

While Octane is almost guaranteed a spot for next season, the career of the rest of the squad is at risk. Following a poor season, they could be vulnerable if there is no CDL expansion. However, their LAN performances towards the end of the season may have saved them.
