Former Governor Andrew Cuomo Reportedly Staying In Friends' Southampton Home After Leaving The Executive Mansion

Since leaving the Executive Mansion, former Governor Andrew Cuomo is rumored to be staying in a friend's home in the Hamptons.

According to the New York Post, the 63-year-old has been staying in pal Dr. Jeffrey A. Sachs' Southampton home.

"The talk around town is that Andrew has been at Jeffrey’s house in Southampton Village," an insider told the publication. "Andrew is keeping a very low profile. He knows better than to go for a stroll around town, everybody would be horrified. He hasn’t been out to his usual restaurants, he has been spending time with close friends in their private homes."

This reportedly is not the first time that Sachs has gotten the politician out of a pickle. After Cuomo and ex-wife Kerry Kennedy split, he reportedly stayed at Sachs' United Nations Plaza apartment. Sachs is also said to be the godfather of Cuomo's daughter Michaela, the outlet noted.

Sachs was on Cuomo’s New York State Medicaid Redesign Team in 2011. He runs the Sachs Policy Group, which advises health care leaders on the direction of health care policy, according to a bio. He also served as senior health and human services advisor to Cuomo's father, Mario Cuomo.

Cuomo is believed to have spent some time in his brother Chris Cuomo's Southampton home, who is also said to be close to Sachs. The outlet noted that he spent time with his sister Maria Cole in Westchester too.

Before leaving the Executive Mansion, some of the disgraced politician's things were U-Hauled to Maria and her husband Kenneth Cole’s Westchester home, the Post reported.

As previously reported by OK!, Cuomo is not believed to own any property in his name. He previously shared a home in Mount Kisco with ex Sandra Lee. The pair called it quits in 2019 and she sold the property in 2020.

"I’m not disappearing. I have a voice, I have a perspective and that’s not gonna change. And the details aren’t really that important to me to tell you the truth," Cuomo told NY Mag about where he is going to live.

"You know? I’m a New Yorker, I’ve lived here, I’ve lived in Queens, I’ve lived in the city, I’ve lived upstate, I’ve lived everywhere, I came to Washington, so that’s … I don’t really care about that. I’ll figure that out," he added.

Cuomo stepped down as Governor after Attorney General Letitia James released a report detailing alleged sexual harassment earlier this month. The report claimed that he sexually harassed 11 women, several of which are current or former state employees and violated state and federal laws in doing so.

Cuomo denied the allegations. He eventually stepped down because the "best way I can help now is if I step aside and let government get back to governing. And therefore that's what I'll do."

After his resignation came into effect, Kathy Hochul took the helm as the first female Governor of New York.
