When the Ford Bronco originally broke cover in the summer of 2020, there were a lot of big questions. One of them was whether the new off-road SUV would be a North American exclusive product or not. So far, that has been the case, with 125,000 orders in place here in The New World. However, according to Auto Express, that has changed as Ford CEO Jim Farley states, “I’m just waiting for these guys (Ford of Europe) to make up their mind.”
Ford Bronco Originally Not In The Plans For European Market
Previously, a spokesperson for Ford Germany had stated that the SUV was designed specifically for the North American market, and Ford doesn’t have any plans to import the SUV into foreign markets. Now, it’s clear that Ford CEO Jim Farley believes the Bronco would be a huge success in European markets, and the only obstacle it faces is whether or not Ford Europe will bring the extremely popular SUV to its shores. And perhaps the EU’s draconian emissions laws for automobiles. Still, the Jeep Wrangler manages to be sold oversees, with a fair bit of success thanks to its all-American flair. The Ford Mustang also sees a fair bit of success in the European market, as well. Especially the V8 models.
Regardless of what the market truly wants, it’s likely that Ford would have to sell either an eventual Bronco hybrid in Europe, or a Bronco with a gasoline particulate filter.

With the large number of reservations placed for the Bronco just in America, it would likely be a good couple of years until we see the Bronco land across the pond simply due to the issues presented towards Ford ramping up production.
The Ranger Raptor has been a considerable success in Europe. With the leak of the Bronco Raptor potentially coming for the 2022 model year, it could give some extra incentive for the Blue Oval to put the Bronco in their market. It looks like the decision lies solely with the people across the Atlantic, and for the time being, we will be the only ones that get to enjoy the fun that the Bronco has to offer, at least until Europe decides otherwise.
