With all of the photos, videos, and convoy chasing of the 2023 Corvette Z06, it was impossible for Chevrolet to really keep the design of the upcoming supercar much of a secret. Plus, the prototype stalking was approaching borderline harassment. So, on Monday, September 27, Chevrolet decided to just rip the tape off and show the people what they want. However, keen observers may notice that this is more of the base model, and is absent of the mighty Z07 package.
2023 Corvette Z06 With The Z07 Package: Details
The 2023 Corvette Z06 with the Z07 Package was spotted multiple times on public roads here in America, and at the infamous Nürburgring in Germany during industry pool testing. It’s easily identified by its contoured rear wing, and is sure to have an upgraded set of brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires and other aerodynamic pieces of kit to go with it. Pricing on the Z07 package is not yet known, but the package cost as much as $7,995 USD on the C7 Z06 during its final model year. Considering the bar that the C8 Corvette Z06 will undoubtedly raise, we could assume that the Z07 Package would also command more of a premium than we’ve seen before.
The 2023 Corvette Z06 will officially debut, with much more photos, plus the official specs, come October 26. We understand the C8 Z06 to have a flat-plane DOHC V8 engine nestled behind the cabin, regardless of if it has the Z07 Package or not. Total horsepower and torque numbers should come in between 600-620 horsepower. Indeed, less than the 650 hp supercharged LT4 that was in the C7 Z06, but the C8 Corvette Z06 has the potential to be the most powerful atmospheric V8-powered production vehicle the world has ever seen. And all of that power will be sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec dual-clutch 8-speed transmission. Mark your calendars.
