Gabby Petito's Family Flies To Wyoming To Retrieve Her Body Following Month Long Autopsy, Remains Will Be Cremated

Gabby Petito's family is headed to Wyoming to collect her body after a month-long autopsy.

According to TMZ, Gabby's parents Joe Petito and Nicole Schmidt have planned to leave New York on Wednesday October 13, to fly to Wyoming where their late daughter's body is currently located.

Reportedly, the family has planned to have her cremated in the mountain west state and then will fly back to the east coast with her ashes. The outlet also stated that authorities will also brief her parents on any updates regarding her case and investigation.

AsOK! previously reported, Teton County, Wyoming, Coroner Brent Blue held a press conference on Tuesday, October 12, with the results of Gabby's autopsy. It was revealed that the 22-year-old died after being manually strangled to death at the hands of a person. Blue also made the comment that the influencer's murder appeared to be carried out in "a lot of anger".

Findings also showed that Gabby's lifeless body had been left for three to four weeks prior to authorities discovering her remains.

Gabby's body was found in Grand Teton National Park, the last place that she was spotted during her summer cross-country road trip with boyfriend Brian Laundrie, on September, 19.

As OK! previously reported, Brian, who is the main person of interest in the case, was officially reported missing on September 17. But the Laundrie family has stated that the last time they saw him was on September 13, after Brian told them that he was going for a hike at the Carlton Reserve in Florida and never returned.

Since Gabby's death and Brian's disappearance, reports have surfaced about what happened on their camping trip. The two reportedly had multiplerun-ins with police after witnesses reported acts of domestic violence as well as people witnessing Brian being aggressive towards Gabby and other people.
