Protestors in the murder case of Gabby Petitohave taken things to a new level.
The parents of fugitive Brian Laundrie— who has now been missing for over a month — have been under major scrutiny since their son was named a person of interest in the death of 22-year-old Petito.
Many believe the Laundries might be withholding information about their son’s whereabouts, and protestors have been swarming their residence in North Port, Fl., to try to get the couple to come forward with what they are allegedly hiding.
Over the weekend, Brian’s father, Chris Laundrie was spotted tearing down a poster that was placed outside of his home — an act he is now being sued for.
According to court documents obtained by Front Page Detectives,plaintiff Andra Griffin is asking for $40 in return for the stolen protest sign.
The lawsuit filed in a Sarasota County Court alleges that Griffin made the sign, which read “What if it was Cassie,” on Friday, October 15 as part of a “peaceful protest.”
The message on the sign is in reference to the Laundrie’s daughter, Cassie Laundrie who recently claimed that she had no idea whether or not her brother was involved in Petito’s death, or if the parents helped him disappear.
The lawsuit claims that “On or about the morning of Saturday, October 16, 2021, the Defendant, Christopher Laundrie, came out of his home, walked up to the sign, stole it and walked back onto his property.”
The plaintiff is asking for $40 in return for the stolen protest sign, which is less than the $65 fee required to file the suit.
It seems that protesters are getting antsy while law enforcement officers continue to have no luck in the search for the missing 23-year-old, who is believed to have had something to do with Petito’s tragic death.
The YouTuber was found dead last month in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, where the couple had been visiting on a cross-country road trip just weeks before.
Last week, more details surrounding her death were revealed as Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue announced on Tuesday, October 12, that the late social media influencer had been killed by means of strangulation.
The update on the case caused a surge in protesting efforts, including protesters who banged on the front door of the Laundrie residence the same day that the autopsy results were announced.
The pair of protesters showed up at the Laundrie home late on Tuesday night to threaten the pair to “speak up soon” about their son’s alleged involvement in the death of his fiancé.
So far, the authorities have not named any suspects in the case, but the manhunt for Laundrie continues.
