However, the 36-year-old mom told Cohen, “the timelines match up to me.” She also insisted that she believes Jayne is telling the truth when she says she didn’t know what was going on with her finances while her estranged husband was allegedly embezzling money.

“I believe her. I feel bad for her,” McCain said of her friend. “I know wealthy women who don’t know anything about their finances.”

“I believe she has a good heart. I believe that she will be proven innocent,” she continued.

The former host of The Viewgave background on her friendship with Jayne, who she recalls becoming much closer to after she gave birth to her daughter Liberty during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I’m like legitimately good friends with her. We became much closer during COVID,” McCain stated. “It’s a little weird. I remember specifically when I was coming back from my first doctor’s appointment after I gave birth, her calling me, and like having a whole conversation about how stuff was going down in her life.”

“I would have loved to have consulted her,” the Bad Republican writer said. “I would have loved to have her hire me for some political consulting especially on her social media. I just think unfortunately that perception is reality in the time that we live in.”

Jayne is currently facing a $25 million lawsuit for her alleged involvement in the scheme, although she still maintains that she was kept in the dark about Girardi’s alleged actions.

Girardi has now been placed under a conservatorship as a result of Alzhiemer’s disease and his dementia diagnoses.
