The next-generation Ford Ranger will have a product lifecycle just as long as the T6 platform truck it’s replacing, according to a forum post. Codenamed P703, the all-new 2023 Ford Ranger pickup truck will begin selling in global markets such as Thailand and Australia by May 2022, and is set to be revealed before the end of the year. But that much has been pretty much known. However, there are new details.
The admins from Ranger6G.com claim to have the full product timeline of the next-generation Ford Ranger, which will make its debut in America as a 2023 model year vehicle in the 2023 calendar year. We pasted their findings below:

2022 RANGER (P703 – Global) PRODUCTION TIMELINE:
- Launches globally first, starting with Thailand first, then Australia (May 2022)
2023 RANGER (P703N – U.S. Version) PRODUCTION TIMELINE:
- Final design approval achieved in early 2019.
- Production begins on May 1, 2023 at Michigan Assembly Plant (MAP).
- Official launch (sales/dealer stock) set for July 3, 2023.
- Production life ends April 2031.

2023 Ford Ranger: What To Expect
This report – which gets down to the very month of a calendar year – adds further credence to the expectation that the current-generation Ford Ranger in America – which is essentially the global model that’s been around since 2011 and is based on the T6 platform – will be around for two more years. And with the recent launch of the Ranger Splash appearance package, along with the formidable Ranger Tremor, Ford Motor Company appears to be in no rush in killing its little golden goose.
The next-generation 2023 Ford Ranger will have a new design that shares resemblance with both the fourteenth-generation Ford F-150, as well as the all-new and exciting 2022 Ford Maverick pickup truck, based on recent photos (pictured above and below). But where the P703 Ford Ranger will have an all-new appearance, much of what powers it will be familiar to current customers. The 2.3L EcoBoost four-cylinder engine and 10-speed automatic transmission are expected to make a return in the base model, while electrification and higher-output engines are expected on the higher end. And finally, the Ford Ranger Raptor will officially be sold in America, and may fly to the top of the midsize truck food chain, even above the upcoming, next-generation Chevrolet Colorado ZR2. Exciting times await.
