2023 FORD RANGER SPIED LOOKING LIKE THE SMALLER MAVERICK, LARGER F-150

The next-gen 2023 Ford Ranger was recently spotted in Thailand – a long, long way from Dearborn, Michigan – and with it comes fresh new perspectives on its design. This is thanks to amateur spy shots posted just below. The 2023 Ford Ranger has already been suspected of having a family resemblance to the smaller Ford Maverick in its design language. But also with the larger F-150, blending the two design languages in logical fashion. We dig it, how about you?

Next-Generation 2023 Ford Ranger Production Details

It’s expected that North America won’t be getting the next-generation Ford Ranger until at least the 2023 calendar year, which means a 2024 model year. That means the current, long-in-tooth Ranger built alongside the Ford Bronco at the Michigan Assembly Plant will hang around for at least another year or so. Globally, the Ford Ranger is expected to launch in 2022, as a 2023 model, likely starting in markets like Australia and Argentina.

Patience is considered a virtue, and despite having to wait a little longer to get the new Ford Ranger, America is expected to get the Ranger Raptor as well, which could receive the same engine as the 2022 Bronco Raptor.

Finally! A Ranger Raptor! For America!

We expect the Ranger to start with a 2.3L EcoBoost engine as standard with a 10-speed automatic transmission, just like what we see now. With Ford Motor Company earmarking $30 billion by 2030 for electric vehicles (nearly the entire GDP of Nepal), there’s little budget left for new engine and transmission development. Sigh. Regardless, there is also a rumored hybrid system inbound for the next-generation Ford Ranger, which could take on the PowerBoost name like the larger hybrid F-150. Stay tuned for more.
