2023 CORVETTE Z06 REVEAL: IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

The 2023 C8 Corvette Z06 is here and it’s pretty much a street legal race car, even if you ask race car drivers. To commemorate the debut, Chevrolet produced a 25-minute reveal video full of beautifully shot angles, sounds and footage of the new American supercar, featuring cameos from successful individuals through different walks of life. The video also captures their first-hand reaction to this modern mechanical marvel made by GM.

2023 Corvette Z06: Highlights

The mid-engine C8 Corvette Z06 reveal has been highly anticipated to say the least, following up on the 650 horsepower C7 Z06 that was nicknamed “Big Nasty.” The 2023 Corvette Z06 is even nastier. Beginning with the engine, the Corvette Z06 will lay claim to something no one else can in its most powerful naturally aspirated production V8 engine in automotive history. The 5.5 liter DOHC flat plane crank LT6 engine puts out 670 horsepower at a whopping 8,400 rpm, with the redline being 8,600 rpm. It’s the fastest spinning production engine GM has ever made.

The C8 Z06 will go 0-60 in 2.6 seconds, needless to say, it was built for speed.

Z06 Reveal Features Famous Faces

In the debut video for the Z06 there are a host of guests that share their enthusiasm for the brand and newly developed vehicle, from NBA players to Youtubers. More on the side of expertise, retired Corvette Racing driver Oliver Gavin makes an appearance he notes that driving the C8 Z06 was the first time he felt almost no difference between driving the production and race ready models. That says a lot coming from someone who has won 5-times in the 24-hours of Le Mans with Corvette Racing, along with winning Daytona, Sebring and Petit Le Mans endurance races in near-equal measure.

The entire 41-minute video, including the panel discussion that followed the reveal, was emceed by former racing driver and current motorsport broadcast personality Justin Bell. The cast is also joined by Bruce Meyer, the founding chairman of the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, where the debut took place, shares his thoughts mentioning he believes the Z06 will perform in the highest of competitions around the world.

Take a 41-minute break, and enjoy the C8 Corvette Z06 reveal in its entirety.
