1000+ HP CHEVROLET ZZ632 10.4L BIG BLOCK V8 CRATE ENGINE GOES DYNO TESTING

Chevrolet Performance just released a video of its 1,004 horsepower ZZ632 10.4L V8 Big Block crate engine doing dyno testing. This absurdly big-displacement naturally aspirated V8 engine is the biggest, and most powerful crate engine ever built by the company, and will be showcased at the upcoming 2021 SEMA show running from November 2nd to the 5th at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Chevrolet Performance ZZ632 Big Block V8 Dyno Run

Per the results on the dynamometer, peak power of the Chevrolet Performance ZZ632 10.4L V8 Big Block engine arrives at 6,600 rpm, while the crankshaft will continue to spin up to 7,000 rpm. Peak torque of 876 lb-ft arrives at 5,600 rpm, but in this Godzilla V8 slaying big block, torque also happens to be everywhere. Just as important, we get a solid audio clip of the Hellephant hunting crate engine running at full chat. Just imagine this thing under the hood of a Chevy squarebody truck. Or a Camaro. With ordering starting in early 2022, customers may not have to imagine for very long.

Speaking of Camaro, Chevrolet Performance recently tasked Hoonigan with installing this beast of an engine in one of a third-generation Camaro Z/28 development car, which already had a 454 V8 under the hood. Some other upgrades are expected to include coil over suspension and a new cradle to support the entirety of the massive engine. They were also in favor of using a rack and pinion system as opposed to the steering system the vehicle came with, as well as deleting the HVAC system all together. Some of these decisions are presumably to make space for the engine itself. Hoonigan also says there will be a footprint gas pedal, just because.
