Lady Gaga Reveals She Wore 'Bulletproof' Dress While Singing National Anthem At President Joe Biden's Inauguration

Lady Gaga is giving details about the dress she wore to President Joe Biden’s inauguration almost a year later.

In January, the Grammy-winning artist, 35, was clad in a couture dress as she performed the national anthem while the president was sworn into office.

In a new British Vogue video released on Monday, November 8, the A Star Is Born actress revealed a secret about her outfit for the event: Her dress was actually bulletproof.

“This is one of my favorite things I’ve ever worn,” Gaga said while looking back at some of her previous looks over the years. “I wore this Schiaparelli design for the inauguration, and nobody knows this, but this is a bulletproof dress.”

It is unclear how exactly the garment was made bulletproof, but the dress clearly yields even more power than what meets the eye.

The stunning ensemble featured a navy jacket with a bright red ballgown skirt in a custom look designed by Schiaparelli creative director Daniel Rosenberry.

The “Rain On Me” singer also reflected on the statement accessory she wore to the event: a gold brooch in the shape of a dove with an olive branch in its mouth to symbolize peace. “When I saw that golden dove, I just knew that this was the right piece,” she said.

“And I knew, Schiaparelli being an Italian fashion house, it was something that I really, really wanted to do for my heritage as an Italian-American woman that would be singing for President 45 to be leaving and to invite President 46 into office,” she added.

Gaga has been pulling inspiration from her Italian roots a lot lately as she is set to portray socialite Patrizia Reggiani in the upcoming film House of Gucci.

The singer-songwriter had to employ an Italian accent for the film, which she was reportedly practicing for months.

“I lived as her [Reggiani] for a year and a half. And I spoke with an accent for nine months of that,” Gaga previously told British Vogue.

While the “Shallow” singer was highly dedicated to playing the role, Reggiani herself was less-than-pleased that Gaga would be portraying her for the biopic.

“I am quite annoyed by the fact that Lady Gaga is playing me in the new Ridley Scott film without even having the foresight and sensitivity to come and meet me,” she stated earlier this year.

The upcoming biopic will also feature Salma Hayek, Al Pacino, Tom Fordand more stars when it hits theaters on November 24.
