2023 CHEVROLET CORVETTE PRODUCTION EXPECTED TO START IN MAY NEXT YEAR

The C8 Corvette is on a roll. The 2021 model year saw a 28.7% sales increase over the previous year, and with the 2023 Corvette Z06 debuting as the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 production supercar to ever exist, the world has truly been put on notice. But when can customers expect production and delivery of the 2023 model year Corvette? We have news on that front.

According to the Corvette Action Center, dealers received a notification from Chevrolet that outlines the end of the 2022 Corvette model year build timeline, and when the 2023 model year will begin production, including dates for order submissions.

The Chevrolet dealer document states that production for the 2022 Corvette will end on May 6th, 2022. Three days after production for the 2022 Corvette comes to a close, the factory will begin building the 2023 Corvette on May 9th, 2022.

Order entry availability for the 2023 Corvette Stingray has yet to be decided, and the start of 2023 Z06 production has yet to be announced. The documentation sent to dealers only mentions the Corvette coupe and convertible. However, GM notes the production dates for their other brands, such as the Cadillac, which outlines the CT4 and CT5 and in parentheses states: “including Blackwing for Retail”. We’ll check in with updates as soon as we hear more.

To the surprise of nobody, the 670 horsepower 2023 Corvette Z06 is already in high demand, with some dealers tallying up more than 1000 customers on waiting lists. Pricing for the new Z06 has yet to be announced, but it’s expected that it will incrementally jump up to perhaps where the C7-generation Z06 with the Z07 package was priced from the 2019 model year, which came in under $90,000.

Just as the marketing goal was to get the 2020 Corvette Stingray to have a starting MSRP of under $60,000 USD, we’re sure the Chevrolet marketing team would love to advertise this 10-second car with a starting price of under six figures.
