The Ford Bronco had a helluva SEMA Show, as builders far and wide were able to debut myriad accessories and modifications for the off-road SUV, in-person, for the first time. That also gave the opportunity for several builders to showcase their Bronco projects. Ford Performance had several of those on display at their official booth, including a Bronco with tank treads, another with 37-inch tires and long-travel suspension, and plenty more where that came from. Outside the Ford Performance booth, one could argue that things got even more creative. One such builder eviscerated the Bronco’s independent front suspension in favor of a live axle. And another builder took things all the way back to 1966 with this unofficial Ford Bronco Heritage Edition. And, is that Brittany Blue we see? We think so.

This unofficial Ford Bronco Heritage Edition was a massive collaboration between several St. Louis, Missouri area shops, and actually began life as a maxed-out First Edition model.
Beyond the Brittany Blue vinyl wrapping and white accents, this modified Ford Bronco First Edition features Diode Dynamics LED headlights built into the front bumper, while additional lighting has been added to the top with six LED lights mounted to the bumper and above the windshield. The grille features red Bronco lettering to contrast with the white.
On the side, the Bronco features custom Bronco nameplates that work as a nod to previous generations. Lastly, two more LED lights have been mounted onto the spare tire of the unofficial Heritage Edition Bronco. Under the hood is a 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine that keeps things factory rated at 330 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. The standard 35-inch Sasquatch Package tires are traded in for a set of 37-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler tires, with a full spare to match.
It’s Already Been Sold
The kicker? Somebody liked this one-off Ford Bronco so much that they paid a handsome $120,000 USD for it on Bring A Trailer last week – roughly double the MSRP of a factory Bronco First Edition.
Suppose you’re interested in the 2023 Ford Bronco Heritage Edition. In that case, you could potentially follow what this builder did and make one yourself. Or you could wait a little while, if you prefer, and get one from the factory.
When the 2023 Ford Bronco Heritage Edition does debut, look for it to have all sorts throwback design cues. These will include two-tone paint, with the grille, mirrors and hardtop roof likely painted white, as well as the wheels, which will also have a design inspired by the 1966 Bronco. It’s unclear at the moment how many of them will be built, but if what we saw with the Bronco First Edition was any indication, which the Heritage Edition will technically replace, numbers could be limited to only a few thousand units.
