Volleyball Associate HC Hildebrand Leaving Huskers for Alma Mater

He spent three seasons in Lincoln helping Nebraska to a pair of national title appearances

Nebraska volleyball will have at least one staff position to fill for next season.

Just a day after Nebraska fell in the national championship match, Long Beach State announced the hiring of Tyler Hildebrand as head coach of their women's volleyball team. Hildebrand has spent the last two seasons as associate head coach for Nebraska volleyball.

A Long Beach State alum, where he was a three-time First-Team All-American on the men's volleyball team, Hildebrand spent three of the past five seasons as an NU coach. During those seasons, Nebraska made at least the Regional Final round each time, and finished as the 2017 national champions and 2021 national runner-up.

Hildebrand's experience also includes Director of Coaching for the USA Volleyball Beach National Team.

The departure of Hildebrand leaves head coach John Cook with assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Jaylen Reyes as the only full-time assistant. Former Husker Kelly Hunter currently aids the team as a volunteer assistant.
