The Chevrolet Off-Road Concept, formally known as the Beast, was first seen during its debut at the 2021 SEMA Show in Las Vegas over a month ago. The concept vehicle’s military-inspired styling, paired with 650 horsepower and top-shelf off-road performance hardware, makes for an absolute monster of a vehicle. This week, General Motors Design has featured a few concept sketches that show early design ideas for the off-road vehicle.
The first is the sketch by Jayme Starbody, which isn’t all that far off from what was unveiled at the 2021 SEMA Show. The only difference we can see is that the front tow hooks are blacked out, rather than red.
The second sketch for the early design of the Chevrolet Off-Road Concept features the interior, which definitely saw a few changes.
The original design is relatively modern, with digital displays, switchgear on the center console, and a minimalist steering wheel. In addition, the passenger-side dashboard and center console behind the gear shifter (which looks an awful lot like a manual gear shifter) features a modular design with the ability for owners to customize what they want to fill those spaces.
Ultimately, the Chevy Beast Off-Road Concept interior design went with an automatic shifter, a C8 Corvette steering wheel, and a few other ins and outs.

The Chevy Off-Road Concept is based on a modified Silverado short-bed chassis, but with the excellent bodywork, it looks more like a real-life Halo Warthog than a Silverado. The vehicle features a Chevrolet Performance LT4 supercharged V8 crate engine with 650 horsepower, paired to a 10L90 10-speed automatic. There is also a two-speed transfer case that has been included in the build as well. Handling the sandy bumps at high speed is a long-travel off-road five-link suspension system. In addition, the concept vehicle features a widened track measuring 91-inches, 20-inch Beadlock wheels with 37-inch off-road tires wrapped around them. There is also a Chevrolet Performance Big Brake Upgrade System.
As for whether or not you’ll ever be able to buy one, a Chevy Performance engineer said to “make your voices heard” if customers want to see it put into production.
