SVE CHEVROLET COLORADO ZR2 XTREME OFF-ROAD PACKAGE IS A 750 HP TRX HUNTER

What happens when you take a 2022 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 midsized truck, drop in a supercharged V8, and fortify its already amazing off-road capabilities? You get the 2022 Colorado ZR2 Xtreme Off-Road package from Specialty Vehicle Engineering. And never mind taking on trucks its own size; this thing has the power to hunt bigger dinosaurs.

SVE Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Xtreme Off-Road Package: Details

The Chevy Colorado ZR2 is already a class-leading off-road pickup truck with locking front and rear differentials, Multimatic DSSV dampers, and the choice between either a V6 or diesel engine (both of which are on their way out, as GM readies a 2.7L turbo for the next-gen model).

The common qualm for the Colorado ZR2 is that it doesn’t make enough power, which the aftermarket moved to quickly fix with V6 supercharger kits that can punch out as much as 500 horsepower in some cases. But SVE continues to make headlines by introducing products that are consistently more powerful than just about anything else out there. Look no further than the 850 hp Yenko Silverado or 1,100 hp Yenko Camaro vehicles as proof points. So for the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Xtreme Off-Road Package – a midsize truck, mind you – SVE shoehorned a 5.3L supercharged V8 engine from the GMC Canyon-based SVE Syclone to deliver a TRX-trumping 750 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque.

Can we get an ‘amen?!’

This supercharged V8 powertrain consists of a blueprinted L83 aluminum block with a race-quality rotating assembly, including forged 1538MV twisted steel crankshaft; forged H-beam rods; forged aluminum pistons; CNC ported L83 high flow cylinder heads with ARP high-strength head and main studs; an upgraded high and low-pressure fuel system with high-flow injectors; state of the art high-efficiency air to water intercooler system; and a custom stainless steel exhaust system.

To handle the power, the factory transmission, driveshafts, and T-case have all been replaced with more robust hardware.

Decked Out Design

As evident by the photos, the 2022 SVE Chevrolet Colorado Xtreme Off-Road Package has a unique appearance to ensure the vehicle stands out among lesser ZR2 trucks. The aggressive quarter panel graphics and a set of beadlock capable wheels give the truck a bold look.

The entire vehicle does in fact start life as a factory ZR2 crew cab with a short bed, where SVE then takes the chassis, and integrates a BDS 4-inch high clearance lift system that keeps the beloved Multimatic DSSV Damping System. 6-piston front brake calipers in either red with black or white “Xtreme” lettering with 13.6″ rotors give the vehicle the stopping power that a 750 horsepower truck would need.

The interior of this supertruck offers an optional leather seat trim package that features a leather surround with a leather insert. The package is available in two colors to match the available factory interior colors. The exterior comes in any factory color the customer chooses

SVE plans only to produce 50 2022 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Xtreme Off-Road trucks. So if you want one, you better act fast. And don’t forget to have $85,000 on hand when you do, and a donor Colorado ZR2 to upgrade.
