CHEVY DEALER GIFTS NEW SILVERADO TO TEEN AFTER SURVIVING A TORNADO

If you’re an avid reader of MC&T, then you’ve seen the Chevrolet Silverado that was lifted off the road by a tornado in Texas before it landed and drove away. It was a spectacular feat, and we’re glad the teen was okay. After tracking down the truck, KXAN Austin found that it had minor scratches on its side. The event ended up being fantastic PR for Chevy, which according to The Drive, collaborated with Bruce Lowrie Chevrolet of Fort Worth to give the driver and his family a brand new Silverado.

2022 Chevrolet Silverado Replaces Tornado Damaged Truck

16-year-old Riley Leon is now the happy owner of a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT All Star Edition in Cherry Red. Additionally, after seeing Leon’s interview on KHOU 11, the dealer decided to lend a hand and donated $50,000 to the American Red Cross to support natural disaster relief efforts across Texas.

Chevrolet also released a statement on the matter, “We are thankful Riley is safe, commend his driving skills during a frightening situation, and our hearts are with other families in Texas that have been affected by these storms. Due to the team’s quick action at Bruce Lowrie Chevrolet, the new truck will be presented to Riley and his family on Saturday, March 26, at the dealership.”

Leon was returning home after an interview with Whataburger when he encountered the storm during the drive. He claims that the truck was a family vehicle he had just purchased from his dad. We are certainly glad Leon has received a 2022 Silverado. He’s undoubtedly stoked about it, and with how much good press this has brought the company that made his truck, he deserves a reward. Not just for that, but his superb driving skills. This is certainly what we would call a situation that wouldn’t be able to be repeated if they tried.
