If you know what you want in a vehicle and you aren’t taking substitution suggestions, be prepared to pay up. According to new market analysis from iSeeCars both the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Maverick are some of the most overpriced vehicles you can buy right now.

Production is down, yet demand remains high. So it comes as no surprise that dealers are having to adjust to these new market conditions by altering the sticker price of the vehicles they have on their lots. In the case of the Jeep Wrangler, the markup sits at 26.7% over MSRP which is an increase of almost 10-thousand dollars ($8,925). That price adjustment, at least in terms of percentage, is the highest and ranks at the top of the list. In terms of sheer dollar amount however the highest hike in price for an American vehicle is the Jeep Gladiator. The Gladiator sees an adjustment of $9,824 which is a 22.5% jump. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited fits in the middle of these two with a price hike of 22.9% or $9,534 which is high enough to be represented in the top-five most over-priced vehicles on the list.

The Ford Maverick is also present on the list, both the hybrid and all gas powered iterations find themselves in the top-ten. The hybrid engine is what comes standard on the Maverick. The 2.0L EcoBoost engine is a $1,085 upgrade according to the build and price tool. The hybrid Maverick ranks second to the Jeep Wrangler in terms of percentage with an increase of 25% or $5,601 above sticker. The gas powered Maverick is priced 22.2% over MSRP a $5,368 hit to the wallet. The Ford Bronco is an honorable mention as well as it ranks 8th on the list of new cars priced the highest over MSRP. It endures a 20.6% price hike, a $7,783 increase. The average of price increases sit a less than 10-percent or $3,753. It’s safe to say Jeep’s lineup and the Ford Maverick will cost you a pretty penny.
