INTRODUCING THE 2022 CHEVROLET CAMARO INDY 500 FESTIVAL CARS

If there’s an unofficial start of spring in the automotive world, it’s this. On April 4, in the city of Indianapolis, Indiana signaled the return of the month of May with 50 identical 2022 Chevrolet Camaro SS convertibles placed on the main straightaway at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The “Festival Event Cars” have reminded the Indianapolis-area residents of the upcoming Indianapolis 500 since the 1960s.

Chevrolet Camaro: Festival Event Car Details

This year’s fleet of unique Camaros will once again turn heads as they are driven around Central Indiana. The Festival Event Cars are an outstanding option code based on the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible. They are powered by a 6.2-liter small-block V8, which produces 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque. In addition, the exterior of the car features Wild Cherry Tintcoat exterior paint with unique decals from Chevrolet’s Performance Design Studio representing the 106th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Bainbridge.

The cars also feature a Ceramic White interior, a power-folding convertible top that can be lowered while driving at speeds up to 30 mph, Brembo front and rear performance brakes with red calipers, and 20-inch black-painted aluminum wheels. The car’s presenters were Allison Melangton, Penske Entertainment Senior Vice President; Pat Merna, Chevrolet Motorsports Strategic Marketing and Operations, Todd Christensen; and 500 Festival Vice President Strategic Partnerships, Pat Merna.

The Chevrolet Design team did an excellent job making this year’s Camaro a stand-out, and they are extremely eye-catching and unique. The 106th Indianapolis 500 presented by Bainbridge is scheduled for Sunday, May 29, 2022. If you want to buy tickets, you can do so through IMS.com. There is also additional information on all Month of May events and activities that will take place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway that can be found on the website.
