SHELBY AMERICAN WILL BE SHOWING OFF A NEW CONCEPT CAR NEXT MONTH

Shelby American will be celebrating its 60th anniversary at the Carlisle Ford Nationals event happening on June 3-5 in Pennsylvania. The festivities will include the introduction of a new concept vehicle which will be surrounded by Team Shelby members. The car will debut at 3 PM ET on Friday, June 3.

Shelby American Is Up To Something

The concept will be a tribute to one of the most celebrated cars in automotive history, and it will also gauge the demand for a limited series of the vehicle. Beyond that information, we don’t know what this concept vehicle will be. It could be an update on the Mustang Mach-E Shelby, which we got to see at the 2021 SEMA Show. While that car didn’t receive any modifications to the power, the team at Shelby added their own unique calibration to the MagneRide dampers of the Mach-E GT, along with several visual updates to make the SUV look more aggressive.

Last year we got a video from The Bronco Nation that pitted a 2021 Ford Bronco against a Shelby Ford Mustang GT500 SE. While the video was like something out of a video game, it ended on a special note as the current president of Shelby American, Gary Patterson points at the Bronco and says that Shelby should “do something with that!”

A Shelby Bronco is undoubtedly in the cards, and while it might not be exactly what we’re used to when it comes to Shelby and the roar of a V8, tuning the potent engine already found in the Ford Bronco Raptor could be the route they take. The twin-turbocharged 3.0L EcoBoost V6 engine already gives the highly anticipated SUV 400-plus horsepower. With added power and some other modifications to the vehicle’s performance, there could be some extremely high demand for a Shelby Bronco.

Then again, the concept could be something entirely different from what we would expect. The only way we’re going to find out is when the car is revealed next month at the Carlisle Ford Nationals.
