If you’ve ever wanted to do your own muscle car Hellcat engine swap, then buying this used engine from eBay might be the best way to do it.
The Hellcat V8 earned its legendary status as the most powerful engine ever fitted to a street car. That number has been eclipsed a number of times since it was introduced in 2015, but it set the new standard for massive power in modern muscle.
The engine itself displaces 6.2-liters, but the supercharger adds another 2.4-liters for a total of 8.6, and of course, helps to produce that amazing 707 horsepower number. The engine flows 30,000 liters of air per minute, and it takes 80 horsepower just to drive the supercharger.
The oversquare engine has a bore of 103.9mm and a stroke of 90.9mm, allowing it to rev up to 6200 rpm. The heads are Mopar’s famous Hemi-style heads, which feature a spark plug right in the center of the combustion chamber and two valves on the top and bottom.
A Tremec T56 transmission can be bolted right up to the rear of the engine, or if you’d prefer an automatic, anything that can accept the Mopar Performance controller.
For $13,500 plus $650 shipping, you can have it delivered to your door, ready to drop into your project. That might seem like a lot of money, but shop around and you’ll see that a brand new Hellcat motor from somewhere like Schwarts performance will set you back $17,495, and that’s even on sale!
