The e-bike that's chasing all kinds of records

Colorado-based Optibike has been building extreme bikes for 15 years now. Its latest model, the R22 Everest, is undoubtedly the electric bike of all superlatives, for its speed, its autonomy and its price!

The Optibike R22 Everest really is a bike like no other. According to its designers, the R22 Everest is ready to scale any mountain in the world, including the highest. The manufacturer guarantees that it can ride on steep slopes of up to 40% gradient, including when pulling a trailer, but also breeze over bad roads or rocky paths.

This bike features an electric motor with 1,700 W power (2,500 watts peak output), promising a maximum speed of 58 km/h. But the most spectacular thing about this bike is perhaps its range, estimated at more than 480 km for an average speed of 24 km/h. That said, the faster you ride, the more this range will decrease, but it'll still no doubt be enough to ensure some good rides. To reach such performances, the bicycle is equipped with a carbon fiber frame and a double removable battery totaling 3,260 Wh. As a result, it's a relatively heavyweight model, at 42 kg, before being loaded with a bag or other accessories.

Finally, this e-bike's price is also out of the ordinary, since it is available from $17,900 dollars, and that's without any optional extras or shipping costs (which can be $900 for shipment to Europe!). And for that price, rest assured that each bike is built and assembled by hand, to order, in the Optibike workshop.
