2022 STEEDA FORD F-150 THUNDER EDITION SEEKS TO DELIVER THE BOOM

Off-road trucks like the Ford F-150 Raptor and Ram TRX have more or less reset what it means to be a performance truck, compared to the original F-150 Lightning or Ram SRT/10 street trucks of yesteryear. Still, that desire for street exclusive performance remains. What about the Ford truck enthusiasts that want to stick to the pavement? For that, there’s the freshly announced 2022 Steeda F-150 Thunder Edition, which incidentally has more power than a Ford F-150 Raptor. We’re not sure about the Raptor R yet.

The inspiration to build the 2022 Steeda F-150 Thunder Edition came from the creation of the Ford F-150 Lightning, which disappointed the company that it would end up being an all-electric truck, even if it is the fastest factory-built F-150. So they took things into their own hands to create a sports truck capable of working on Saturday and racing on Sunday.

Steeda Ford F-150 Thunder Edition: Details

The Steeda F-150 Thunder Edition features the classic regular cab short bed design. Under the hood is a 5.0L Coyote V8 with a Whipple Stage 2 Supercharger. Nearly 780 horsepower and 685 lb-ft of torque are sent to the 10-speed automatic transmission, which then spins the 22-inch Velgen DDR VFT6 wheels with Nitto NT420V tires wrapped around them. The truck only has rear-wheel drive, which is all that’s needed when sticking to the pavement. With an MBRP Black Coated Cat-Back exhaust, the vehicle will make the right sound to make a statement anywhere.

Steeda made sure the outside of the vehicle stands out from other trucks on the road with custom paint-matched bumpers, “Thunder” badging, and roof-mounted and liftgate-mounted spoilers. In addition, the suspension on the truck has been lowered, 3-inches in the front and 5-inches in the back. The F-150 Thunder Edition was designed to handle the drag strip, winding back roads, and the road course. While still being capable of carrying materials for projects or trailering.

With a fully upgraded suspension for improved handling, the Steeda F-150 Thunder Edition is comfortable over longer distances while still possessing the power to have fun if desired. The MSRP for the Steeda F-150 Thunder is $34,000 plus the price for the base Ford F-150. So, really, for less than the price of a Mustang Shelby GT500 all in, you’ve got something that can turn and burn with any muscle car. Or truck.
