The Carlisle GM Nationals kicks off tomorrow, June, where a little town within a 45-minute drive of Harrisburg, and Hershey, Pennsylvania puts on a massive gathering of General Motors vehicles from all around. And two vehicles in particular may be of interest to you if you love F-body Chevrolet Camaro muscle cars. There will be two rather unique third-gen Camaros on scene, one of which is a true one-of-one.
1991 Chevrolet Camaro LT5 SEMA Concept
The first of the two is a 1991 SEMA show car constructed by John Moss, a legend in the auto world who has created some rather influential vehicles in the 70’s and 80’s, some of his work may have been seen traveling the country as part of Camaro’s legends tour. This third-generation Chevrolet Camaro stands as the only OEM vehicle outside of the C4 Corvette ZR-1 with the Lotus-engineered LT5 DOHC V8 engine, and started its life as test vehicle for GM before turning into a SEMA Show stopper with its very early 90s color scheme. Yes, those are Neon Green wheels contrasting the Atari Purple flames.
DSE-Z Camaro
In addition to that comes another unique monster, Kyle Tucker of Detroit Speed is bringing their “DSE-Z” 1987. The all blue third-gen Camaro has been dubbed “The Baddest Third-Gen Camaro Ever Built” by Motor Trend.
This third-gen Camaro began its life as a rugged (but generally rust-free) dilapidated muscle car that Tucker bought for $500 but earned $600 from parting it out. The amount of upgrades are many but the highlights we need to mention are the Mast Motorsports, out of Nacogdoches, TX built LS7 engine pushing out 705 horsepower.
