FORD MAVERICK TREMOR LIKELY ON THE WAY FOR 2023 MODEL YEAR

Just in the past few years, the Ford Truck family has gone to fantastic lengths to offer a smörgåsbord of off-road ready and rugged variants well beyond just the F-150 Raptor. That’s the same for the SUV family as well. Depending on what you’re in the market for, there’s likely a Tremor, a Rattler, an FX4, a Raptor, or even a Timberline version of it. And we haven’t even gotten to the Bronco family. Logically, it comes as no surprise to learn that Ford Motor Company is currently hard at work readying a more rugged variation of the popular Maverick small truck. It’s believed to wear the ‘Tremor’ moniker.

The 2023 Ford Maverick Tremor package will follow a familiar formula seen with the Ranger Tremor and F-150 Tremor, and is expected to be available on both XLT and Lariat trim levels. Visually, it will be easy to tell it apart from more basic versions of the truck thanks to its Active Orange accents on the grille, wheels and tow hooks. Darker tinted front and rear lights will also be present on the Maverick Tremor. A higher clearance, angled front bumper also replaces what we currently see on the FX4 package. It’s unclear if it will be composed of steel like on the Ranger Tremor and F-150 Tremor, or if it will be a more cost-effective plastic.

There are bound to be chassis upgrades for the 2023 Ford Maverick Tremor, but such upgrades are not immediately clear. It’s likely to see damper upgrades, at minimum, likely borrowed from the Ford Bronco Sport. That said, the tires appear unique to the Maverick Tremor. The Ford Bronco Sport Badlands utilizes the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tire. The 2023 Ford Maverick Tremor will use the Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail, a slightly less aggressive and more cost-effective choice.
