2023 FORD MUSTANG ISN'T AS COLORFUL AS BEFORE

A member of Mustang6g forum posted what he found on Ford’s dealer connection website in regard to the exterior paint choices for a 2023 Ford Mustang. The color choices appear to be less then before, as they don’t include Eruption Green or Mischievous Purple Metallic, both of which were offered as late availability for an S550 2022 Ford Mustang per the current build and price tool. 2023 model year colors for the Mustang Shelby GT500 are not immediately known.

The colors offered for the 2023 Mustang so far are as follows;

  • Grabber Blue Metallic
  • Atlas Blue Metallic
  • Rapid Red Metallic
  • Shadow Black
  • Dark Matter Gray Metallic
  • Iconic Silver Metallic
  • Vapor Blue Metallic
  • Carbonized Gray Metallic
  • Race Red
  • Oxford White

The only addition to the color palette is Vapor Blue Metallic, a color that appears eerily similar to the Ford Bronco and its Area 51 paint color. Good news for those that like it, it does not appear to carry any kind of up charge. Surprisingly though, Race Red which didn’t have an associated charge on the 2022 build and price tool, but appears to come at a premium for 2023. In addition to the late availability colors from 2022 that aren’t on this list, Cyber Orange, a $695 option for 2022 is also nowhere to be found here. Whether those missing colors will be added later remains a mystery, however, with the S650 Mustang reveal creeping closer and production looming, time is running out.

The next-generation, 2024 S560 Ford Mustang is expected to enter production spring of 2023 and is not a complete rebuild of the iconic pony car but an evolution of design. Further down the line a hybrid model of the S650 is expected. However, for the 2024 model year the new Mustang will feature carryover powertrains from the S550, as MC&T first reported last year, but likely with adjustments to their output.
