WHAT IS THE FORD BRONCO OATES?

When you think of oats, you probably think of one of two things. Something you feed horses or oatmeal. However, the 2023 Ford VIN decoder posted on the Bronco6G forum shows that there’s a mystery model called the “Bronco Oates.” So what is this mysterious trim that has suddenly appeared on the radar? Well, its placement on the trim level list and some help from forum members may give us a clue.

Ford Bronco Oates: The Mysterious New Trim For 2023

We can see within the 2023 Ford Vin Decoder that the Ford Bronco Heritage trim will have two levels, the regular and then the Heritage Limited. It was believed that the Heritage would be the trim just below the Raptor, but now that the Ford Bronco Oates is there, that’s not the case. The Ford Bronco Oates is a 2-door advanced 4×4 vehicle that could be a variant of the Bronco Raptor (though not likely), according to a response on the forum thread.

While the Bronco Raptor only comes in the 4-door configuration, the Oates only comes in 2-door. We could see it equipped with some of the BRaptor hardware, though we can’t imagine it will share too many of the same attributes as the ultimate version of the SUV since they could call it the Raptor 2-door if that were the case. Someone theorized that it could be their desert racer, but since the vehicles on the list are for street use, that wouldn’t be the case.

At this point, it’s difficult to say what this mysterious trim level for the Ford Bronco is. More curious is what Ford might do to make it more unique and worthy as a standalone trim. The name Oates is another matter; it could be an acronym, as it seems to make little sense on its own. Since all we can do is speculate for the moment, what do you think this mysterious trim entails for the 2023 Ford Bronco line? Let us know in the comments below.
