NEW FORD SUPER DUTY WILL DEBUT BEFORE END OF YEAR

Ford is packing its schedule for the second half of 2022. Because along with the confirmation of the all-new 2024 S650 Ford Mustang muscle car, Big Blue is also set to debut its market share mammoth: the new 2024 Ford Super Duty family of trucks.

Ford CEO Jim Farley stated during Ford’s Q2 earnings call that the new heavy-duty truck will be introduced before 2023. There have been several spy photos regarding the large pickup. Whether we’ll see the official debut during the Detroit Auto Show or at a separate event later in the year remains to be seen. But it’s more likely going to be a different event as Ford will probably want all the attention on the new pony car’s debut.

Next-Gen Ford Super Duty: Details

The new Ford Super Duty is expected to borrow some design influences from the new F-150, specifically at the front, where C-shaped lights surround different grilles depending on the trim level. In addition, the radiator grille and the Ford logo will likely grow slightly in size compared to the current model. At the back, the design of the taillights is similar to the current look, but we can see some minor changes. The shape is longer and more narrow, though the light arrangement appears to be the same. Inside the cabin, we can expect to see a new dashboard with an F-150-inspired large tablet-style screen dominating the center console.

Regarding what’s under the hood, we likely won’t see any significant changes for the big truck at first, and are likely to carry over to the new generation with very few modifications. That includes a base 6.2-liter V8, a 7.3-liter pushrod V8 (Godzilla), and a turbocharged 6.7-liter Powerstroke diesel.
