Cadillac has begun its transition to a fully electric vehicle portfolio, which is targeted for the year 2030. It started with the recently launched Cadillac Lyriq electric SUV, and will be followed by by the ultra-opulent Celestiq electric flagship sedan. Eventually, the iconic Escalade and high-octane V-Series line of products will have to fall in line with this strategy as well. And below details when the world can expect the all-electric Cadillac Escalade IQ and larger Escalade IQL to hit the market.

According to an Automotive News forecast, the Cadillac Escalade IQ will arrive in 2024 and the longer Escalade IQL is expected a year later in 2025. Traditionally, the Escalade utilizes the same platform as Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 full-size pickup trucks. In the case of the Chevrolet Silverado EV and the GMC Sierra EV, that’s the GM BT1 platform, incorporating the company’s Ultium battery technology. The BT1 platform is expected to serve as the base architecture from everything including an electric Chevrolet Tahoe to the go-anywhere GMC Hummer EV pickup we see today.
AN forecasters believe that the electric Cadillac Escalade family will be built at the revamped Detroit Hamtramck assembly location also known as Factory Zero, where the GMC Hummer EV and Silverado EV are being manufactured. But with the Orion Assembly plant being tooled for electric trucks as well, we won’t count this Michigan plant out as another potential location of manufacture.
It’s also worth noting that moving forward Cadillac will utilize the “IQ” suffix on its all-electric platforms. Cadillac has already begun using this nomenclature with its Lyriq SUV that began deliveries earlier this year and is already sold out, according to Cadillac’s website.
For the internal combustion engine purist, there is still the 682 horsepower Cadillac Escalade-V, the world’s most powerful three-row luxury SUV.
