League of Legends fan stages proposal with real hextech chest

For one lucky couple, a League of Legends proposal will mean a lot more than an invitation to queue up.

For many people, League of Legends is more than a game. It’s a big part of many people’s lives, a place where they met friends or play with their partner every day. One League of Legends player decided to propose to their “duo queue partner” in a special way that would celebrate their love of League and each other.

Reddit user u/Hippups has shared a hextech chest they 3D printed to hold a ring. The hextech chest can be opened with a key to reveal a black engagement ring and a holographic invitation to accept the Oathsworn Bond.

The hextech chest closely resembles the ones in the game, with League of Legends fans marveling at the attention to detail and glowing accents.

The League of Legends community applauded the effort and romantic gesture. Many were blown away by the detailing and its shiny appearance. Others called it “cute as hell.” This was a way to propose in a way that was special to the couple, who clearly love playing League of Legends together.

Hippups told League of Legends players that their partner had said yes to the proposal.

“Proposal accepted. Gonna get Kalista ulted around woohoo,” they said, referencing the Oathsworn Bond.

Hextech chest not the first League of Legends-themed proposal

Gamers have often used their shared interest of League of Legends to create special moments. One especially wholesome moment was at Anime Expo 2019. During the League of Legends photo shoot, which had all LoL cosplayers gathered together, one cosplayer got down on one knee and proposed to his partner, also dressed up, in front of all the League of Legends cosplayers.

While gamers have a bad reputation of being toxic, these kinds of wholesome moments show the support and passion of the gaming community.
