Ringbrothers has brought not just one vehicle to the 2022 SEMA Show but five, and the first one that was revealed on the first day of the legendary event was their 1972 Chevy K5 Blazer named “Bully.” What’s so special about this Blazer over other ones? The 1,200 horsepower V8 mounted under the hood of this legendary SUV.

Ringbrothers 1972 Chevy K5 Blazer Bully: Details
Ringbrothers’ K5 Blazer Bully’s ludicrous power comes from a 6.8-liter Chevy LS3 engine paired with a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger, delivering nearly 10 total liters of displacement. Bully also features a Flowmaster exhaust and a 4L80E four-speed automatic transmission. Naturally, it still has four-wheel drive, a Dana 44 front differential and axles, and a Dana 60 solid rear axle suspended with dual Fox coilover springs and shocks at each corner. The front suspension setup is an independent design, and the rear end is a four-link solid axle design. Of course, the big, powerful SUV needs something equally powerful to slow it down, which is where Baer six-piston brakes for all four of the custom HRE wheels come into play.
But as with any Ringbrothers build, the design is equally, if not more, impressive than the mechanicals. You can find minor tweaks to the design, such as the power dome on the hood, the heat vents with the same mesh pattern as the grille, and the unique carbon fiber design on the fender flares that fit the lines of the factory panels perfectly. The roof bars are exceptional as they’re unique to this truck, allowing drivers to remove the roof panels as they please. The interior is also impressive, with custom parts coupled with some spiffy woven seats that look almost like lawn chairs.
While there’s a winch in the front, sometimes two are better than one, which is why Ringbrothers equipped the K5 Blazer ‘Bully’ with a second one at the back, ready to get the SUV or friends out of a sticky situation. As for the interior, you can’t go wrong with a touch of modern tech to play your tunes while making your way to the trail.
