2022’s League of Legends season has ended, so with Season 12 behind us, when does League of Legends season 13 start and end?
Every year in League of Legends is broken into seasonal categorizations, which bracket a year’s patches, new champions, competitive events, and more. For fans looking forwards to this year’s ranked play opening up, as well as other events, what can they expect? Here’s what we know and what we can comfortably speculate about the League of Legends Season 13 start and end dates.
League of Legends Season 13 start date
As obvious as it may seem, a new season needs its first patch to arrive before it can properly begin. Luckily, Riot Games publishes its patch schedule well ahead of the start of a new year, so we can estimate when the first day of the season will be. The seasons for previous years have both begun on the Friday after the first patch of the season. The first patch in this year’s season will happen on Tuesday, January 10, so it’s likely that the League of Legends Season 13 start will be on Friday, January 13, 2023. This would be one of the later-starting seasons, but the patch date has been announced, and the beginning of the season proper would have to be after that point, leaving Friday as the likely candidate.
When will League of Legends Season 13 end?
Unlike the beginning of the season, the end of a League of Legends season doesn’t have much to do with the final patch of the year. Riot Games tends to end the ranked season in November, shortly after wrapping up the World Championship and similarly exciting events. This end usually comes the day before the second patch in November. The second November patch for 2023 is November 20, so the Season 13 end date is likely to be on November 19, 2023.
