After presenting its Nyx concept in 2022, allowing users to play PC games on any screen in the home, American manufacturer Alienware is following up with a new and particularly innovative gamepad prototype at CES this year.

This completely reinvented gamepad is intended to replace the keyboard and mouse of the PC. Above all, it offers a new experience to players. While it may look like any other classic controller, it actually incorporates a fingerprint reader that makes all the difference. This means that as soon as someone picks up the controller, it recognizes the player and can immediately take them back to where they left off, or to their favorite game.

Moreover, this controller experiments with haptic feedback specially adapted to the user's preferences and to the game they're playing. It allows players to feel different sensations in their hands, depending on whether they're driving a car or holding a weapon, for example.

Alienware, which is owned by Dell, makes it clear that this is only a prototype for the time being, and it is not a product that will be on the market anytime soon. Note that the idea is also to allow access to messaging applications or streaming platforms thanks to this Wi-Fi-connected controller. In practice, a single TV screen could also be split in two, with someone gaming on one side and another user playing a different game or watching a movie on the other.

Alienware is also exhibiting its latest PC models for gamers at the Las Vegas consumer tech show.
