Are you Ready To Rock? It seems an S650 Ford Mustang prototype is, as one has just been delivered to the RTR lab. A post on RTR Vehicles Facebook page showcases a camouflaged S650 Ford Mustang, which will give the aftermarket company the ability to get dimensions and come up with some idea on what they can and will do with the 2024 Ford Mustang. If the S550 RTR Mustang is any indication, it will be epic. Possibly even cool enough to get featured in some future video games.
One of the most popular aftermarket creations RTR made for the S550 Ford Mustang was the grille which integrated LED lights into the sides, giving it a tinge of unique styling to set it apart from a model that came straight from the factory. Another popular feature that some fans will likely be keeping an eye out for is an RTR Chin Spoiler, which will add a hint of aggression to the car’s appearance and assist with aerodynamics to a degree. As they have previously done, Ford Performance will likely work with RTR to bring an even more capable car to the table. For example, the 2021 RTR Series 1 had a Track handling pack from Ford Performance for non-MagneRide cars, while Mustangs with MagneRide received the Ford Performance MagneRide Suspension kit.
As for performance, we’re sure people will be looking for ways to do so, but the S650 Ford Mustang is already a beast straight from the factory. The base S650 Mustang features a revamped turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost engine, delivering 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, making it the most potent base Mustang yet. Additionally, Ford targets fuel economy improvements, aiming for 22 mpg city/34 mpg highway and 26 mpg combined.
As for the S650 Mustang GT, the twin air intakes feeding dual throttle bodies bumps the fourth-generation 5.0L Coyote V8 engines power up to 486 horsepower and 418 lb-ft of torque when equipped with an available active valve performance exhaust system. Without the exhaust system, the Mustang GT punches out 480 ponies and 415 lb-ft of torque. As for the Dark Horse, Ford is keeping its 500 horsepower promise official and delivering 418 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful non-Shelby Mustang ever, giving plenty of reason for power-hungry enthusiasts to have some fun. With the future RTR products coming, you’ll be able to make your S650 fit your preferred muscle car style.
