Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus (SCG) is known for making out of this world vehicles that are both race proven and innovative. Take the SCG Baja Boot, for example, which beat Ford at the Baja 1000 not once, but twice, and then drove home after doing it. Or the SCG 004, a supercar that’s passed crash testing without any airbags. Or consider that the Glickenhaus team managed to finish the 24 Hours of Le Mans after their very first outing with the SCG 007. This year, however, the team is diving head-first into the crowded Hypercar class – a tier 1 division full of entries from the likes of Ferrari, Porsche, Cadillac and Peugeot hybrid prototypes. But unlike the other cars, the Glickenhaus SCG 007 race car isn’t going to be a hybrid. And also unlike the other cars, customers will be able to buy a street legal version of it in the form of the SCG 007S.
For the low price of just $2.9 million USD, customers will be able to order their on SCG 007S homologation special, putting a road street legal Le Mans Hypercar in their garage.

Overall there will be 24 units built to abide by the rules of homologation. The SCG 007S street version will sport a unique twin-turbo V8 power plant producing an approximate 1,000 horsepower. Combine that output with a less than 3,000 pound (2,799 lb) overall body weight, the advertised claims of beating lap records in Germany, may end up coming true. The street version even comes with a three-seat cabin, like the GMA T50 supercar.
It features a 3-seat configuration with a center-mounted driver’s seat and weighs only 2,800 lbs including fluids and fuel. Exact powertrain details have not been revealed yet but the output is confirmed to be 1,400hp. The race version uses a 3.5L V8 twin-turbo engine made by Pipo Moteurs from France, output here is capped at 670hp as per the new Le Mans Hypercar rules.
The race version however offers only a single cockpit but offers 671 max allowed horsepower for the race. The race ready Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus 007S was developed in partnership with Pipo Moteurs who were able to provide a powertrain capable of 671 horsepower without the assistance of hybrid technology.
So, if you’re not really into the NASCAR Garage 56 Chevy Camaro that’s competing at Le Mans this year in front of a sold out crowd, perhaps the SCG 007S is more to your liking.
