The epic Ram 1500 Revolution electric truck concept introduced at the 2023 CES in January is hard to forget. Complete with an absurd level of tech that made many of us rethink the future of trucks. Though that reveal wasn’t long ago, the automaker is ready to start talking about the production model, which will be called the Ram 1500 REV.

At the 2023 Chicago Auto Show, Ram CEO Mike Koval Jr. showed two teaser images of the production Ram 1500 REV. The teasers reveal the electric truck’s grille, headlights, and REV badge on the hood. Ram remains tight-lipped about the look of the rest of the production truck, but the teaser images indicate what we can expect from the truck when production begins.
The concept truck featured LED daytime running lights that run into the grille, and now it appears that feature will make it to the production version. Additionally, the Ram script on the blacked-out grille looks solid but is actually backlit. It’s unclear if all trims and models will have this backlighting feature, but it’s a nice touch. The sculpted hood features a raised center section similar to today’s gas-powered Ram, likely in the name of aerodynamics, though we’re sure it’ll mean more can be fit into the frunk as well.
What is known about the Ram 1500 REV is that it will be built on Stellantis’ new STLA Frame platform, which is one of four modular EV chassis designs that will be the basis of all future EVs from the automaker. Range has yet to be discussed, but Koval has revealed that the aim is somewhere between 300-400 miles, which is a sweet spot for most consumers. Though, the platform is capable of up to 500 miles of driving range, according to Stellantis.
As for charging speeds, that has yet to be disclosed, though Ram claimed the concept truck could add up to 100 miles of range in 10 minutes when plugged into a 350-kW DC fast charger. Additionally, we know that Ram plans to add some familiar trims to the electric truck lineup, which could include the off-road TRX model.
